9月8日、貴国の君主エリザベス女王陛下が崩御されたとの報に接しました。
貴国民はもとより世界中の人々が大きな喪失感を感じていると思います。女王陛下は70年もの在位期間において、平和と安寧を願う真摯な姿勢を世界に示されてきました。我々はこの姿勢に深い感銘を受けてきました。女王陛下は我が国の皇室とも長くて深い交流があります。日本国民も親しみの気持ちがあり、女王陛下のご崩御はわれわれ日本国民にも深い悲しみを与えております。
私は、日・豪・ニュージーランド協会を代表して、閣下及びオーストラリア国民に対し心よりの哀悼を表するものであります。
またこの機会に、日本とオーストラリアの友好関係が、新国王チャールズⅢ世陛下の治世下において引き続き発展するとの確信を表明いたします。

Your Excellency,
On the eighth day of this month, I found sad news of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth Ⅱ, Queen of Australia. Your people and the people in the world seem to feel an acute sense of loss at this moment. During the reign of 70 years, Her Majesty has been showing to the world the sincere and unwavering attitudes for peace and serenity, which have made a deep impression on us. Since the Japanese Imperial Family has had a long cordial relationship with Her Majesty, and the Japanese feel a sense of familiarity toward Her Majesty, so that the demise of f Her Majesty has taken us into a deep sorrow. As President of the Japan Australia New Zealand Society, I would like to convey sincere sympathy for you and the people of Australia.
Also, taking this opportunity, I would like to express my confidence that the friendship between Japan and Australia will develop continuously under the reign of the new King Charles Ⅲ.
