Early-Autumn Gathering with English Rakugo at the Australian Embassy
JANZ (Japan-Australia-New Zealand) Society, Inc. hosted an early-autumn gathering at the Australian Embassy on Tuesday, 10 September. We were very privileged to have Mr. David Erbacher, Counsellor (Management) and Consul-General of the Australian Embassy join us and grace the occasion.
The evening was highlighted with a “Rakugo” performance (Traditional Japanese monologue story telling) recited in English by the bilingual Rakugo-ka (storyteller), Shinoharu Tatekawa.
Delicious Aussie-style finger-food prepared by Harry’s Catering along with Australian and New Zealand wine were enjoyed by all.
英語落語を楽しむ初秋の夕べ 於：オーストラリア大使館
日豪ニュージーランド協会(JANZ Society)主催の「英語落語を楽しむ初秋の夕べ」が９月10日(火)、オーストラリア大使館にて開催されました。オーストラリア大使館からは海外ご公務中の大使に代わって、参事官兼総領事のデビッド・アーバカース氏がご出席下さいました。
スペシャルエンタテインメントと致しまして「帰国子女、イエール大学卒後三井物産勤務」、 と言う異色の経歴を持つ今話題の落語家・立川志の春さんに解説付き英語落語をご披露頂きました。落語のあとにはハリーズケータリング様による美味しいオージースタイルのお料理を、オーストラリア、及びニュージーランドのワインと共にご堪能いただきました。
