（公社）日・豪・ニュージーランド協会にも招待状が届き、高橋名誉会長と荒井副会長が参加しました。
2026年6月16日は、日豪友好協力基本条約署名、および豪州政府により設立された豪日交流基金設立からちょうど50周年にあたります。
オープニングパーティは次期駐日オーストラリア大使アンドリュー・シーラー閣下ご挨拶から始まり、次に堀井巌 外務副大臣がスピーチ、南オーストラリア州のフランシス・アダムソン総督の乾杯🥂のご発声で懇親会の開演です。
経済面に留まらず、文化芸能、スポーツ（日豪AFL交流）、戦後の和解への営みや日豪ライフセービングプロジェクト、学会交流にコアラやクオッカなどの可愛い大使たちの貢献秘話や科学外交、日豪教育パートナーシップ、先住民族交流など様々な分野に関係する功労者たちが未来について語り合い、これからも協力関係を維持しつつ、発展を誓い合う有意義な機会となりました。
加えてJANZ2028創立100周年事業についても知っていただくことができ、今後のご協力に期待します。
JANZ Participates in Commemorative Exhibition Marking the 50th Anniversary of the Japan–Australia Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation and the Australia–Japan Foundation

The Japan–Australia–New Zealand Society (JANZ) participated in the commemorative exhibition and reception celebrating the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Japan–Australia Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation and the establishment of the Australia–Japan Foundation, held at the Diplomatic Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
Representing JANZ were Honorary President, Mr. Takahashi and Vice President, Ms. Arai.
The opening reception commenced with remarks by His Excellency Mr. Andrew Shearer, incoming Ambassador of Australia to Japan, followed by an address from Mr. Iwao Horii, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan. Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, proposed the official toast.
The exhibition showcased the achievements of Japan–Australia cooperation over the past five decades across a broad range of fields, including trade and investment, culture and the arts, sports, education, scientific diplomacy, Indigenous exchange, academic collaboration, and reconciliation initiatives. The event provided an opportunity for participants to reflect on the strong foundation of bilateral relations and to exchange views on future cooperation.
During the reception, JANZ also introduced its forthcoming centenary project, commemorating the Society’s 100th anniversary in 2028. The Society looks forward to working closely with partners in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand to further strengthen international friendship and cooperation in the years ahead.
